
Kirk has a degree in American history and a master’s degree in social work. He is in private practice as a psychotherapist in southern Maine. He has been in the mental health field for thirty-five years.

He has been a student of astrology for over forty years.
He majored in philosophy for his BA (1973-6) and in 2020 completed a PhD at the University of Wales Trinity St. David which examines truth-issues in astrology and can be found on this site. Garry has a long-standing interest in the practice and philosophy of Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta.

He has been studying astrology for over twenty years and has a particular interest in medieval and Hellenistic techniques. James completed his PhD, The Responsive Cosmos: An Enquiry into the Theoretical Foundations of Astrology in 2011.
